5.) What It Is .:. The Abyss

Meeting music producer and educator Abram Ramal Katz aka ARK in Oakland, CA in 2010, this shifted Carmen’s writing process dramatically. She began writing with another songwriter for the first time, experimenting with electronic music (down tempo, r&b, pop, and more). Their chemistry was phenomenal and they worked together for 4 years before finally releasing their co-creations. Their creative process was very organic and feverous. ARK would play Carmen a song he had, and if she was feeling it, she would get to writing. The magic was definitely there. Sometimes, they would record 4-5 songs in one day, all with 5 part harmonies. ARK helped CROW in powerful ways to focus and channel her emotional experience into concise creations. Highs and lows in many ways, they dove deep into the abyss and came out with dozens of songs, as well as a new perspective on collaboration.
